This belt is the easiest to get, it is given to you with the uniform, but in my opinion the most important one. At this level, a student learns basic dojo etiquette and expectations that ultimately determine future belt rankings.
A black belt is a white belt who never quit.
It's that simple
Increased proficiency with basic movements related to breath and body control, balance, and an elementary understanding of the system. Baraka Kempo Crest and Creed introduced.
Skills and drills are becoming less thought out and more reflexive. Kata introduced as part of solo practice to reinforce classroom drills.
Considered the last of the 'beginner' ranks, the blue belt is the bridge to synthesizing the mind, body, spirit philosophy of traditional martial arts.
Situational ethics is covered at this level. More responsibilities are given and the green belt is expected to help the lower ranks without hesitation. More close combat applications and considerations at this level. Basic weapons introduced into training patterns.
The brown belt is the leader of the Kyu ranks and is a crucial part of the teaching environment. They lead by example and set the tone for lower belts. Teaching is required.
The toughest thing to learn is Restraint.
Restraint = Economy of Motion
Restraint = Minimum Effective Response
Restraint = Self defense vs. Punishment
The first official teacher's level. The student has demonstrated, verbally and physically, that they are proficient in the understanding, teaching, and appropriate use of the Baraka Kempo system.
Every rank has a written test that must be passed in order to take the physical portion of the test. Accommodations will be made on a case by case basis.
Three major aspects of training
